Privacy Policy

SquareCut is a cricket scoring and team management app for Android and the web. It is developed and operated by Amanullah Khan ("SquareCut", "we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

a) Account information

Email address – used to create your account, sign you in, and send verification and password-reset emails.
Password – handled entirely by Google Firebase Authentication. Passwords are stored in hashed form; we never see or store your password.
Guest use – you can use SquareCut as a guest. Guest accounts are anonymous and have no email address attached.

b) Information you add to the app

Team and squad details – team names, player names (up to 17 per team), captain name and team codes.
Photographs you choose – player photos, captain photo and team logo. You select these yourself from your device, crop them inside the app, and they are stored with your team's data.
Match and tournament details – tournament names, seasons, cities, venues, fixtures, scores, results and statistics.

c) Information about other people

You can add players, squad editors and scorers to your teams, and you can create a sign-in for a scorer. When you do, you may enter their name and email address. Please make sure you have their permission before you add someone else's information.

d) Information we do not collect

No advertising, analytics or crash-reporting services are used in the app.
We do not collect your location, contacts, phone number, calendar, or any advertising identifier.
We do not open your camera except when you deliberately start the QR scanner to read a team code, and we do not open your photos except when you deliberately choose a photo to add.

2. How we use information

To create and protect your account, and to send account emails such as email verification and password reset.
To run the app: showing your teams, squads, fixtures, live scores and statistics.
To create the images you ask for, such as a squad poster, a match summary or the live score ticker.
To keep the service working and to prevent misuse.

3. Where your information is stored

Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore), operated by Google LLC – your account and app data are stored in Google's Firebase service.
Cloudflare – hosts the web version of SquareCut.
GitHub – hosts this policy page.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

4. What other people can see

Shared match links. When you share a match link, or use the score ticker, anyone who opens that link can see that match – including team names, player names, player photos and the live score.
Team and tournament screens. Squads, teams and tournament details in the app can be read by other users of SquareCut.
Email addresses are never shown publicly. Inside the app they are visible to signed-in users in the team and tournament administration screens – for example, when a team owner manages the people added to their team – and they are never used for marketing.

Please do not add photographs or personal details that you would not want other people to see.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your account record, your email address and the data you created are deleted.

6. Deleting your account and your data

You can delete your account at any time:

In the app: tap Account in the bottom bar, tap Delete Account, and confirm with your password. Deletion is immediate.
By email: write from the address you registered with to amankhanjis@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my account". We handle these requests within 7 days.

What is deleted: your account and sign-in, your email address, and the teams, squads, player photographs, fixtures, matches and tournaments that you created.

7. Security

All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
Access to your data is controlled by your account credentials and by Firebase security rules.
Passwords are hashed and managed by Google Firebase Authentication.
No system is perfectly secure. Please use a strong password that you do not use anywhere else.

8. International transfers

Your information may be stored and processed on Google and Cloudflare servers located in countries other than your own.

9. Children

SquareCut is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us at amankhanjis@gmail.com and we will delete it.

10. Your choices

View, correct or delete your information using the app, or by contacting us.
Ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you.
We respond to requests within 30 days.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be announced in the app or by email.
